What services would Residents really want a CID to deliver?

In December 2022 the Steering Committee sent out a survey to residents within the proposed Community Improvement District.  Officially this is referred to as the Urban Management Survey.  

The draft survey was designed by the Steering Committee and a final version was approved by the City of Cape Town, after suggested amendments had been incorporated.

The survey was conducted by email with a choice of completing the survey either online or using a hard copy. The circulation list included property owners as provided by the City of Cape Town and the Newlands Residents Association database.

By 2/01/23,  331 responses had been received, of which 323 were from property owners.  This exceeded the minimum requirement of 311 responses as per CID application regulations.
