Public Participation Plan
The draft Business Plan has been submitted to the City of Cape Town for consideration. The copy here is an abridged draft to which more sections will be added in the coming days.
Part of the process is the development of a Public Participation Plan. The core of the Public Participation process is determined by legislation. It will last approximately two months, and must include two public meetings. There will also be a number of smaller events.
The 1st Public Meeting was held on the 17th of August 2023, at 18:00 at the Scout Hall on Greenford Road Newlands.
The 1st Public meeting introduced the Draft Business Plan and ask for comments so that the Steering Committee could amend the draft. After five weeks the Steering Committee published the Final Business Plan.
The Final Public Meeting was held on the 28th of September 2023, at 18:00 at the Scout Hall on Greenford Road Newlands.
The final Public Meeting introduced the Final Business Plan. Interested parties were able to comment on this Plan and all comments were recorded and processed.
After the final Public Meeting, property owners had the opportunity to vote on the CID application. Voting ended on 24 January 2024.
Throughout this period, the Steering Committee and other volunteers made themselves available to answer questions, met with groups and individuals, and assisted with knoweldge transfer and the voting process.
