The Power of License Plate Recognition (LPR) in Fighting Crime

The LPR User Group

The LPR (License Plate Recognition) User Group is a collaboration between CIDs, local neighbourhood watches, SAPS, Law Enforcement, security services and LPR working together together to keep our community safe.

Recent Successes

In the last 6 weeks, our collaborative efforts have led to over 70 arrests, the recovery of 23 stolen and hijacked vehicles, and the seizure of 6 firearms. These achievements are a direct result of our participation in the LPR Network.

How LPR Helps

By installing LPR cameras in our area, we are able to be proactive in fighting crime. These cameras can quickly scan license plates and alert authorities to any suspicious vehicles in the area. This allows us to prevent crimes before they happen and keep our community safe.
